A few years back, I happened to go to Rajasthan on an educational tour. There, I saw a boy who had dressed up like Lord Hanuman asking for alms so that he could get by. This sight touched my heart and became a source of inspiration for me.
As an artist, my paintings are created based on one of the greatest epics ‘The Ramayana’. The image of the boy dressed up as Lord Hanuman stayed was engraved onto my memory. As soon as I returned from my trip, I created a painting of the very same boy who danced as spectacularly as Lord hanuman himself. This dance from is also celebrated in Thailand and is called the ‘Ramakien’ a traditional dance routine, which is derived from the ‘Ramayana’ in India.
The painting of the boy is a symbol of my love for the Mythological Epic. It dawns on me that inner peace and self-satisfaction can be gained when one is able to help a person in need or a child in need, rather than donating money to God.
I am glad to be a part of HCG Foundation’s campaign to help a cancer patient. I feel, that I owe society as it has given me so many things in my life. It is now my turn to pay it back and this is my small part towards the welfare of a life
