Ever since my childhood days I was always fascinated about the world under the oceans, the underwater life always piqued my curiosity. I was attracted to the various colors and shapes of the little conch shells and pebbles; they were a joy to collect from beaches.
My love for the underwater world eventually turned out to be the art style I began exploring and has been a constant theme since my college days. My connection was so strong to this topic, that during my final year of Diploma, I was fortunate enough to an entire question paper that was based on sea-life. As my career progressed my art style, patterns and color palette changed; however, I still stuck to creating pieces on the same theme.
After my marriage, I moved to Konkan where my bond with beaches and water grew even deeper. The theme “Underwater World’, in itself is vast and expansive. The sea washes away all worries, opening up possibilities to countless experiences and opportunities in one’s own life. Apart from conch shells and pebbles, I have now started adding more sea-life in my pieces (such as – different species of Fish, Corals, Tortoise and Turtles) giving new meaning to my artwork. After years of patience and practice, this theme has become an inseparable part of my life and I hope this fulfilling and happy relationship that I have with Art never ends and grows to be just as mesmerizing and beautiful as the Underwater World.
I have been fortunate enough to display my artwork and be a part of many Group and Solo shows at Jehangir Art Gallery and Nehru Centre Art Gallery. I have also participated in numerous art events till date; won a few awards and gathered praises from many people.
I am immensely satisfied to participate in this campaign by HCG Foundation, where artists can help a cancer-fighter by the means of buying an artwork. Thank you, HCG Foundation!
