Sunil Bambal

Sunil Bambal is a Landscape Artist, born in 1979 in Chikhli District – Buldana, Maharashtra. He has completed several diploma’s in art, including a G.D. Art Drawing & Painting at Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune; where he achieved First Class with Distinction — 5th Order of Merit in Maharashtra. He went on to receive an Art Teacher diploma from the Yashwant Kala Mahavidyalaya, Aurangabad and in 2008 received a diploma in Art Education from Sir J J School of Art, Mumbai.  He began his Art career at Art point gallery in 2005.

At that time coming from a financially stricken household with his parents being daily wage workers was very challenging for him. However, with support from his family he was able to finish his college education. Due to financial constraints at the time he left Mumbai to go back to his hometown where he currently works out from. In 2005 Sunil got the opportunity to work for Art Point Gallery under the guidance of Mrs.Rohita Doshi, the gallery owner. Art Point Gallery became fundamental to his journey as an artist into the Indian Art Market.

Sunil Bambal spends time in creating cryptically alluring pieces that combine elements taken from his daily observations of urban and rural landscapes from Chikhli district, Maharashtra. He meticulously constructs his compositions by morphing faces of men and women into his landscapes, creating surreal illusions that invoke the deepest sense of ‘Awe’. Playing with the viewers minds; giving them permission to look beyond one’s masks, taking responsibility in being human and implying that people are the basic building blocks of a community.

His years of practice has allowed him to incorporate subtle nuances into his paintings without having to be overly intricate, by using vivid colors and blending images and shapes he creates a bridge that links the working of conscious reality to the far reaches of one’s imagination.

Besides creating Abstract-Expressionistic works, he also creates a wide array of paintings based on: – Spirituality, Mother and Child, Couples, Nature, Trees etc. (Banyan Trees are prominently seen in his watercolor paintings), to addressing global warming issues and even painting certain events from the Mahabharata.

Sunil’s paintings have been bought by people all across the globe including – Switzerland, France, Germany, Florida, California, New York, Boston, Canada, South Africa, Japan, Dubai, Massachusetts, and across India.
